Celebrating SG60

Singapore Oceanarium is proud to be your Principal Partner for National Day Parade (NDP) 2025, making waves with Singaporeans as we celebrate 60 years of independence.

As part of the SG60 festivities, we are celebrating local inclusive arts by collaborating with Aliyya Qisya, a young neurodivergent artist, through a whimsical water parade float called ‘Aliyya’s Aquarium’.

Setting Sail at NDP 2025

‘Aliyya’s Aquarium’ is based on an original illustration by Aliyya, which was inspired by her visit to the then S.E.A. Aquarium.

Using various shapes and colours, this design is Aliyya’s creative interpretation of marine life such as sea jellies, sea grass and sea stars. Through the whimsical water parade float, Aliyya’s imagination has been brought to life! ‘Aliyya’s Aquarium’ will be cruising alongside three other floats during ‘Act 2 – Our Future, Our Aspirations’, at the Marina Bay area.

The Artist Behind the Float

When asked about her thoughts on her creation process for ‘Aliyya’s Aquarium’, Aliyya shared about her love for art and how she wishes for people who have seen it “to feel happy and proud of Singapore”.  A student from Rainbow Centre, Aliyya Qisya is a young artist with cerebral palsy and global development delay who loves art, fashion and a good joke!

Aliyya worked together with her mentor Aida Sa’ad from Superhero Me and the NDP team to create this vibrant parade float. Seeing her design come to life at NDP, she describes the parade float as “cool and pretty”.

Catch ‘Aliyya’s Aquarium’ at NDP 2025 as we celebrate the nation’s 60th birthday and inclusive arts!
